The Studio.

How it began.

The first company named beiderbeck was founded by Jörg Beiderbeck in 1996. In truth, however, the story begins much earlier, at the end of the 1970s of the last century.

In an era when the contemporary concept of superyachting had yet to be invented, when the firm's archive consisted of hundreds of rolls of drawings and renderings were done with airbrush, Jörg was a yacht design pioneer from the very beginning, having left a lasting imprint on our scene to this day. His award-winning design, BeMine, was the largest yacht at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show – with only 40m length!

When Jörg had to step back from day-to-day operations in 2009 due to health reasons, his former partner Immo Lüdeling and Tim Ulrich, a long-time designer at judel/vrolijk & co and co-founder of judel/vrolijk design GmbH, joined him in founding a new company, beiderbeck designs GmbH. With knowledge from dozens of yacht projects and Jörg's incredible network, from which many beautiful friendships have emerged to this day, a state-of-the-art yacht design office was born, equipped with the latest software, cutting-edge technologies, and a team in whose hearts - to quote Jörg - the sacred fire of yacht building burns.

The Studio.

Since 2013 the Beiderbeck studio is located on the top floor of Vegesack harbor warehouse, right in the heart of Germany's superyacht valley. We refer to our studio in this historic building from 1814 as the most beautiful office in the world, and to this day, we haven't found anyone who would disagree.

This studio is much more than a workplace: it is a place of inspiration, creativity, a place where ideas are born, stories begin, and where one can excellently develop new designs.

The office is situated at the crossroads between history and high tech, where historic models and literature coexist alongside virtual reality and 3D printers. This is how we view our designs: always employing cutting-edge technology but always with a sense for aesthetics and classic proportions in mind. This is how we create modern classics.

Additionally, we always try to add a little extra to our designs. True to one of our boat show slogans:

“iI it were from us, it would have an additional sun deck with a pool, full MCA compliance, and a few extras that even Q wouldn't have thought of...”
